The true story of two filmmakers that set out to shoot a pickup day of b-roll for a music video when things take a surreal and spiritual turn down in New Orleans, Louisiana.
A kaleidoscopic time capsule that intertwines the lives of Louisiana local Durand Jones and his late Grandmother, who passed away during the recording of his album heavily based on her life.
A heartfelt and moving exploration of themes such as loss, love, and identity. As well as the reality of the “American Dream”, systematic racism and colorism’s effect on generations of African-Americans in the United States. And above all, music’s ability to heal, to inspire, and to transform culture.
